His films blend mixed formats and media playing into focal points, moments of time or character reveal, his mission to always keep viewers on their toes as to what’s around the corner.
His directed teams in Australia, Dubai, New Zealand, Hong Kong, USA, UK and Sweden, delivering global and local campaigns for brands including NOCCO, Glenmorangie, MERE, Bet365, General Pants, Cartier and Arnotts. Outside of commercials, Simon has directed drama re-enactments on 6 x 60 minute episodes for Series 4 of Crime Investigation Australia, which aired in 2022 on Australia’s Seven Network.
With a creative style that is punctuated through big ideas that are delivered through nuanced character performances, James brings to SOVEREIGNS a natural flair for narrative and conceptual thinking to always deliver the unexpected.
Starting his career in the development and creative of long-form documentaries allowed James to hone and finesse an enviable set of skills to get to the heart of a story and connect with both protagonist and audience.
Currently residing in Dubai in the UAE, James’ work has taken him across 6 of the 7 continents (he’s still waiting on that Antartica brief…) working with Global crews and talent to realise a clients vision.
